Opal Stevens' Beauty Blogger of the Week: Judi

Image
I'm very excited to announce this week's "Beauty Blogger of the Week" - the beautiful and super adorable Judi! I absolutely love reading all her posts, especially her FOTDs! Everyone should definitely check out her blog My Tongue Split the Hemisphere .  How did you get started blogging? I’ve had personal blogs online since 2002. I’ve written everywhere from diaryland to livejournal to my own domain.  However, I only started beauty blogging this past month.  I had a strong desire to write about the things I was discovering and loving, and I wanted a home for all of the FOTD’s I was taking.  At first I was just sharing these things on twitter, but 140 characters is just not enough! Beauty trend you love? I love the coral trend this summer! Coral lips or coral blush, it looks good on a surprising number of people. Favorite fashion trend? I love seeing other people mix prints, particularly stripes and floral.  I tend to wear a...

Lolly Rotten Etsy Shop Review

Image
Welcome and please mind the gap as you board our shop. Lolly Rotten is a collection of gothic and alternative perfume designed and lovingly hand made especially for you, oh most discerning shopper. We hope you'll find something here to interest your punky little heart. All our perfumes are completely original, and our formulae slaved over with absolute devotion, you'll never find an imitation or a product with less than 100% of our hearts in it. Not literally of course, that would be pretty gross. You've probably noticed that our style is pretty unique. We like the stark, dramatic effect; it contrasts so beautifully with what's in the bottle ;) All of Lolly Rotten's perfumes are made with 100% natural cold pressed Jojoba Oil, which your skin will adore. Perfume oil not only holds scent exceptionally well, rather than evaporating off and mutating as the day goes by; but it's also more environmentally friendly and much better for your health. Just check ...

Opal Stevens' Beauty Blogger of the Week: Alex

I'm very excited to announce this week's Beauty Blogger of the Week - my good friend Alex :D! It's crazy how much we have in common (I'm pretty sure we are twins that were separated at birth) - she's such an awesome person. Please, make sure to follow her blog Beauty in Bloom ! How did you get started blogging? I actually discovered the youtube beauty videos first about two years ago, when I was trying to find ideas for something to wear for the first day of school. After that I knew I wanted to do something like that in my free time, but I didn't have a video camera and I really didn't want to be on camera, so I looked into blogs. I started mine October of 2010 but I really got into it in March and now I'm completely obsessed :) Beauty trend you love? I love coral lips right now, they look good on anybody and they compliment almost any eye makeup. Favorite fashion trend? Any type of dress! Floral, maxi, big print, small print, I love dresses...

Home Remedies for Acne and Acne Scarring

Image
Baking Soda Baking soda is an amazing remedy if you're having problems with acne. It's not harsh on the skin and can actually kill acne-causing bacteria, so you can use it as a daily cleanser and a mask. To use it as a cleanser just mix a little baking soda with some water and rub it on your skin gently in a circular motion. Make sure that you really wash away all the dirt and impurities on your skin. To use as a mask, mix a little bit of baking soda and water until you get a paste-like consistency. Leave on for 1/2 an hour or until it drys completely, then rinse with warm water.  Honey Honey is a great way to get rid of acne scarring. Although it can take a while for you to see real results, if you're willing to have a little patience it does an amazing job at getting rid of those pesky scars. Raw and natural honey usually give the best results and because honey is gentle on the skin it can be used as a daily mask. Just apply a layer of honey to the ski...

The Stylish Blogger Award!

Image
1. Link back to who awarded you! Thank you sooooo much Alexandra ! If your not following this girl's blog you are crazy! 2. Seven Random Things! 1. My favorite number is 77. Aha, kinda' works with the theme, huh :)? 2. I cry during a lot of movies, but for some reason no one sees me. Weird, right? I guess I have mastered the art of quiet crying (yeah, i'm cool like 'dat, jk). I was actually talking to Alexandra about this the other day - not about how cool I am, but about being big movie cryers, lol. But seriously, I cried big time when I watched UP, Tangeled, and  Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel .  3. I have a feeling that someone's going to be mad that I used "but" at the beginning of the last sentence. So what?! I hated it when teachers told me that I couldn't use "but" or "and" at the beginning of a sentence!  Yeah, I know it's not a good habit to get into...   Actually, I'm not a big fan of anyone telling ...
