Opal Stevens' Beauty Blogger of the Week: Judi

I'm very excited to announce this week's "Beauty Blogger of the Week" - the beautiful and super adorable Judi! I absolutely love reading all her posts, especially her FOTDs! Everyone should definitely check out her blog My Tongue Split the Hemisphere

How did you get started blogging?
I’ve had personal blogs online since 2002. I’ve written everywhere from diaryland to livejournal to my own domain.  However, I only started beauty blogging this past month.  I had a strong desire to write about the things I was discovering and loving, and I wanted a home for all of the FOTD’s I was taking.  At first I was just sharing these things on twitter, but 140 characters is just not enough!

Beauty trend you love?
I love the coral trend this summer! Coral lips or coral blush, it looks good on a surprising number of people.

Favorite fashion trend?
I love seeing other people mix prints, particularly stripes and floral.  I tend to wear a lot of black, so I live vicariously through fashion forward beauty bloggers. :)

Favorite Health tip?
Drink more water! I’ve cut out all soda for good and drink water to the exclusion of almost everything else.

What are some of your favorite beauty products?

Brazen Cosmetics Sugar Lips Lip Scrub. I use this scrub daily. It removes flaky skin, softens and moisturizes your lips, and tastes great if you happen to lick it on “accident.” ;)  I recommend Yummy Gummies, Tropical Twist, and Mango Mango!

Epielle Cleansing Wipes. These cleansing wipes do as great a job as the Yes To brand cleansing wipes.  They are gentle, hypoallergenic, oil free, non-drying, and safe for contact lens wearers. Oh, and did I mention they cost $1 for 30 wipes?!  My picks are Green Tea and Aloe Vera scents.

MAC Paint Pot. I find that they don’t really crease on me despite having oily lids. They last all day, and come in a variety of shades that can stand on their own, or be used as a base for eye shadows.  My picks are Painterly and Rubenesque.

NARS Sheer Matte foundation.
This foundation provides a soft matte finish which is helpful if you have oily skin like me.  The coverage is sheer yet buildable, but you’re never left feeling as if you’re wearing a mask.

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser.  I can’t live without this cleanser! After using it my skin is bright, fresh and feels squeaky clean.  The sugar scrub is gentle even on sensitive skin and the organic lemongrass smells absolutely divine but isn’t overpowering.

Zoya Nail Polish. With over 300 shades in their library, Zoya has a color for every mood and every person!  They often have sales or gifts with purchase advertised on their facebook page, so I am constantly scoring a great deal while adding to my collection.  My favorite colors are Lindsay, a sheer sparkly pink, Caitlin, a purple/grey, and Dove, a neutral grey. Dove and Caitlin look great together in a trendy half-moon manicure!
